TEACHERS ARE AWESOME!

I knew this before my wife became a teacher. However, I now have an even greater appreciation of this fact. {Yes, for those who do not who did not know my wife is now a K4 teacher at DC.}I do not think Jaime was able to go to bed before mid-night this whole week and there were only two days of school this week. She has this committee to be on and this parent to send an email reply to. It is truly amazing! I know I am partial to Jaime, on this. However, she is rarely at the school alone. There are usually two and three other teachers up there working as well. So this goes back to the title of the post TEACHERS ARE AWESOME! {One quick aside – Mom (my original teacher), thanks for still making your family a priority while doing all the teacher stuff!} I have worked an on-call technology position for the past seven years, and I know Jaime has the most demanding job in the house. So I conclude this thought with two questions- Who was your most influential teacher, and if you could say something to them what would it be?

Coach Williams! My junior high football coach, but also my junior high and high school history teacher. I would say, "Thanks, for not just being a teacher, but also a lifelong friend." I not only learned history, but I learned how to be dedicated, respectful, and hardworking. He inspired a lot of us, and he continues to inspire me to this day. Thanks, coach!

Teachers in my family include my wife, my mom, my mother-in-law and father-in-law, just to name a few. So I agree with the O.P. in saying teachers are awesome...

My most influential teachers were Mrs. Wayne and Mrs. Barnhart, who taught me Chemistry and Physics in HS. They just expected more out of us, and made it seem like a given that we would do well. I would tell them, "thanks!" of course, but also just let them know that their influence is still felt today.
